We have a whole school visual arts programs. We enjoy an excellent sports program and students are encouraged to enjoy, participate and compete. Our Grade 5/6 students are given the opportunity to learn a musical instrument and be part of our band. Our achievements both within school and in the community are celebrated at our Monday afternoon assemblies which are led by Grade 6 students.
Our school enjoys an excellent reputation within Tatura for our involvement with community groups and local industry during the year.
There is a strong sense of community at Tatura Primary School encouraging parent communication and participation. We believe that when parents are actively involved in their child's education, increased student outcomes are expected. We encourage regular and ongoing parent feedback through individual parent meetings and take seriously, the concerns and input from parents.
Student leadership includes school captains and vice captains of our four houses. In addition we have Junior School Council where elected students fundraise for charity, organise whole school events and discuss relevant school issues and suggest areas for improvement. Our EnviroKids lead our school in sustainability initiatives.
If you are considering a primary school for your child in the future, please call and arrange a time for a personalised tour with myself or the Assistant Principal. I encourage you to come and visit our school and observe our children engaged in their learning in supportive classrooms. Tatura Primary staff and students welcome visitors and enjoy explaining their lessons and interacting with visitors.
